Places to Stay on Martha’s Vineyard A Sample of More Great Accommodations for Your Next Vacation No matter where you stay on Martha’s Vineyard, there are many beautiful, inviting lodging options. Here we’re providing a few more samples of hotels and inns to consider when you plan your next Martha’s Vineyard vacation.

The Martha’s Vineyard Resort

For more than 20 years, this resort has been a luxurious haven for visitors to the island. Located in the heart of Oak Bluffs, the resort offers the convenience of nearby attractions, including beaches, restaurants and dining. Each room is equipped with all the amenities—private bath, air-conditioning, cable TV, free WiFi, refrigerated beverages and more. Each room is carpeted with king, queen or full-sized beds. There are two-bedroom suites as well. These include a kitchen, TV with cable, a refreshment center and air-conditioning to make your stay extra comfortable during the summer months. As a guest of the resort, you’re entitled to free parking, tennis courts and a continental breakfast served every morning.

The Beach Plum Inn & Restaurant

This refined Inn in Chilmark offers a French-country décor and a location overlooking Menemsha Harbor, the quaint fishing village. This 19th-century inn is a seven-minute walk from the Menemsha Village center and a nine-minute walk from the Menemsha public beach. Guests of the Inn can take advantage of the tennis and gym facilities next door at its sister property, The Menemsha Inn. You’ll enjoy rooms featuring country-style décor. Some offer flat-screen TVs, whirlpool tubs, mini-fridges and some with balconies that provide harbor views. Some cottages have separate living rooms with sun decks and/or private gardens. When you stay here, plan to truly get away from all the stresses of daily life. While there is WiFi reception on the property, you may not have cell phone service. Instead, you’ll be able to connect with the peaceful, natural surroundings.

The Island Inn

If you’ll be staying in Oak Bluffs, this traditional, New England Inn is walking distance from two beautiful beaches and a premiere golf course. There’s a variety of recreational activities on-site—an outdoor freshwater pool, tennis courts, a playground, picnic and barbecue area. You’re also in close proximity to the many attractions in Oak Bluffs—shopping, dining, historical, and plenty of family-friendly activities. Every room and suite at The Island Inn is equipped with a kitchen and complimentary WiFi access. All lodging is smoke-free.

The Charlotte Inn

If you’re looking for a romantic escape, and you’ll be staying in Edgartown, the Charlotte Inn is a regal, 19-room chateau that will transport you back in time. With antique décor that is reminiscent of another century, at this inn it’s not unusual to find an 18th-century edition of Voltaire by your bedside, or oil paintings on the walls. You could sip sherry by the fireplace, as you enjoy the gorgeous, landscaped garden surroundings. Luxurious suites offer king and queen-size beds, oversized tubs and other modern conveniences as well. All rooms offer French doors that open onto a brick courtyard, as well as private patios.

As with all accommodations, be sure to check the hotel or inn’s website for seasonal and reservation information.
