Spring has finally sprung in New England and Easter is really the start of the warmer weather.  Why not welcome Spring with an Easter driving tour of Martha’s Vineyard?

Getting started is easy as MVAutoRental has convenient locations on the island within walking distance of the ferry terminals in Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs.  There’s also a new 196 Main Street location in Edgartown, as well as complimentary pick-up service at the Martha's Vineyard Airport.

Easter festivities begin on Saturday at the Juliska Island Store

at 23 Main Street in Vineyard Haven.  A SIP and SHOP event features champagne, deviled eggs and shopping their new Gathering and Grazing Collection featuring MV Sea Salt.  Should be yummy!

No Easter is complete without Easter Egg hunts and these fun treasure searches aren’t just for kids! In collaboration with the Harbor View Hotel, the Edgartown Lighthouse is hosting an Easter Egg hunt on the grounds of the hotel stretching down and around the Edgartown Lighthouse. The lighthouse will be open during the hunt and if you haven’t been there before, this historic property is an island must-see.

Everyone is welcome to attend a Community Easter Service at the Ag Hall at 35 Panhandle Road in West Tisbury.  Childcare is provided and you guessed it, an Easter Egg Hunt follows the service.

Brunch is a great Easter tradition, what with all the emphasis on eggs.  The conservatory dining room at The Terrace at The Charlotte Inn at 27 South Summer Street in Edgartown will be offering a relaxed, yet sophisticated brunch from 11-2 on Easter Sunday. According to their website, Chef Justin Melnick’s special holiday menu “embraces the many culinary offerings that spring on Martha’s Vineyard has to offer”.

If you can spare an extra day, Monday features a paper flower-making workshop by Allyson Malik.  Located at the Featherstone Center for the Arts 30 Featherstone Lane, Oak Bluffs, the program will show you how to turn old books into stunning paper flowers just in time for Spring!

You’ll have gotten inspiration from the flora and fauna awakening on the island.  One of our new Jeep Wranglers, Convertibles, 4-Door Cars, SUV's or Mini-Vans is the perfect way to tour the island and see how nature is coming to life from what this year was a hard winter’s sleep.  Especially beautiful this time of year, of course, are the naturalized daffodils.  We really think the ocean in Spring changes color from the winter grey to that beautiful blue that hints at the warmer weather to come.

To get your Easter weekend trip organized, you can Make your reservation on-line or feel free to call us.  We’ll be delighted to help you welcome Spring in Martha’s Vineyard!
