Camping on Martha’s Vineyard Is An Awesome Experience

Did you know that camping on Martha’s Vineyard is an awesome experience? Whether you're a nature lover, beach bum, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, the island offers a unique and unforgettable camping experience. There are actually a wide variety of options when it comes to camping. They range from traditional tent camping to RV camping. The majority of campsites are located within the island's state parks, including the Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest, and the Cape Pogue Wildlife Refuge.

These parks offer scenic views, hiking trails, and plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. If you’re interested in tent camping there are multiple sites to choose from, however, many of these campsites are only available on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, they typically offer basic amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, and access to restrooms and showers. The island's parks also offer group camping sites, which can be reserved in advance and are suitable for families or groups of friends.

RV camping is another great option on Martha's Vineyard. There are actually several RV parks located throughout the island that offer amenities such as electrical and water hookups, showers, and laundry facilities. You can even rent an RV, which of course makes it convenient for visitors who either don’t own one or are not willing to pay to have it transported to the island. Perhaps the best part of camping in an RV is the fact that you have the comfort and convenience of a home on wheels, while still enjoying all of the beautiful surroundings that Martha’s Vineyard has to offer.

Camping in general provides visitors with the perfect opportunity to experience the island's diverse and unique landscapes. For example, the Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, reptiles, and mammals. The sanctuary offers multiple hiking trails that provide a chance to observe the island's wildlife, and incredible views of its marshes, ponds, and forests. On the other hand, The Manuel F. Correllus State Forest is famous for its pristine beaches and serene surroundings. The forest is actually the largest on Martha's Vineyard, and it is a great place for camping, hiking, and beachcombing.
