Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival

Experience the Island’s Most Talked-About Event!

It’s almost that time of year, when there’s a chill in the air, autumn is in full swing, and the island puts on one of the locals’ favorite annual festivals. The Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival is a weekend-long event that showcases the best in culinary talent, while you get to enjoy the fruits of their labor! A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit the Island Grown Schools and the Agricultural Society’s Farmers Program.

You’ll experience four days and four nights of special events, exclusive to Martha’s Vineyard. You will be able to meet with local chefs and wine makers, as well as culinary professionals from around the world. It’s a unique opportunity to talk with the best of the best and learn about their techniques and tips.

The festival also features local fishermen, farmers and oyster producers. You can meet the people behind the gourmet dishes! Local artisans will be on hand as well, offering their original works for sale. Everything from pottery to handmade jewelry and paintings will be showcased. There’s so much to see and do; it’s a must-see festival!

Fresh Off the Farm

6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society

If you’ve always wanted to experience an event that the locals go to, with Island chefs and local entertainment, then come to this festival kick-off event! Sample a wide selection of wines curated by Kermit Lynch, Wine Merchant. Enjoy gourmet cuisine from local chefs and farmers. You’ll even be treated to some tunes from a local Island band, Good Night Louise. Sponsored by Cape Cod Five and The Christina Gallery, this event is one you won’t want to miss!

Thrill of the Grill

5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

On October 18, come to the Grand Tasting tent to taste the finest wines from Frederick Wildman and Sons, while enjoying grilled Island seafood and other cuisine. With a backdrop of ocean breezes, there’s nothing like enjoying good food and drink in a picturesque setting. There’s a “grill off” that allows you to sample the best grilled bites with wine. Chefs represented include: David Vargas from Vida Cantina, Will Myska from Ore Nell’s BBQ, Ryan DiPersio from Fascino and Anthony Bucco from Felina. This is only a sampling of the many chefs who will be attending. So give your tastebuds a treat, and come on down to the tent!
