Tour Martha’s Vineyard

If you enjoy taking tours while on vacation, Martha’s Vineyard is the perfect place for you to travel to. There are a wide variety of types of tours available. For example, you can partake in a sightseeing tour of the island. Both vans and tour buses are available and located at the Steamship Terminals. You need to keep in mind that they only run from early May through the end of October, so plan accordingly. Perhaps you’d be interested in taking a tour of the island on the water? You can actually tour the waters of Martha’s Vineyard on a charter boat or even a sailboat charter.

Kayak tours are also a great way to see Martha’s Vineyard from a different perspective. Good news for people who bring their children on vacation. Kayak tours are available for kids and adults of all ages. If you enjoy history and historical sites, you should take a lighthouse tour. There are actually five (5) lighthouses on the island, but only three (3) of them are actually open to the public and or are easily accessible. For example, you can take a tour of the East Chop Lighthouse, the Edgartown Lighthouse, and or the Gay Head Lighthouse.

The Cape Poge Lighthouse, located on the island of Chappaquiddick is available to tour, but you need to contact the Trustees of Reservations first. You also need to keep in mind that it’s only accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles, which are provided by the Trustees. The West Chop Lighthouse is not open to the public for access or tours. It’s actually operated by the Coast Guard. If you enjoy walking tours, the Edgartown Tour company provides a bunch of opportunities to see the island by foot.

For example, if you take the incredibly popular Amity Walking Tour, you’ll visit some of the most famous scenes from the movie JAWS. You’ll also take part in a discussion about the impact that this film had on the world, along with some interesting inside information regarding the production of the movie.
