New Years on the Vineyard: Things to see and Do

Harbor View Hotel
The Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown is hosting its annual New Year’s Eve bash beginning at 9 pm on December 31. This party will feature dancing in two separate halls, one with a live band and the other with a D.J. At midnight, a fireworks show will take place outside of the hotel. Several packages are available, some of which also include accommodations at the inn along with a late checkout on January 1.
Le Grenier French Restaurant
Perhaps enjoying a gourmet meal with someone special is more to your liking, in which case dining at Le Grenier French Restaurant in Vineyard Haven is an ideal place to spend the evening. Some of this restaurant’s specialties include escargot, lobster Normande, shrimp Pernod and creamed spinach. Dressy attire is required to dine here, so don’t forget to pack just the right outfit.
Lambert’s Cove Inn
This inn in Tisbury has been named the “best inn on Martha’s Vineyard” by Boston Magazine. The restaurant here features an elegant menu that includes seafood, steak, homemade breads and locally-grown vegetables. After enjoying a delightful meal here, you can take a walk along the inn’s private stretch of beach, where you can ring in the New Year away from the crowds a bit. After that, relax in your own private room away from the noisy crowds that might be present on other parts of the island.
The Wharf Restaurant
The Wharf restaurant in Edgartown offers live entertainment in addition to serving delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere here is a bit more casual, which means it is the perfect spot for you to celebrate in if you’re not into dressing up. If you’d like, you can ring in the New Year in their pub, which contains cozy seating and eight different high definition televisions to watch the ball drop on. They serve alcoholic beverages ranging from tap beer to a variety of mixed drinks. If you’d like to plan your own event, you’re in luck, because they are also able to accommodate private parties and large groups as well.
